Smith & Wesson
Dear Mr. Schultz:
I am extremely disappointed in
your company taking part in an agreement which directly attacks our Individual
Right to Keep and Bear Arms. The Smith & Wesson
"agreement" will greatly assist those who seek to disarm law abiding
Americans. It will become a blueprint and gateway for further government
evisceration of our liberties.
The 2nd Amendment is an
integral part of the Bill of Rights, and its purpose is to ensure that an
entire armed citizenry has means to take back, by force of arms, if necessary,
their liberties from a tyrannical government (and, contrary to popular
myth, that includes using 20 & 30 round magazines). There is
complete dishonesty in the news about the purpose of the 2nd Amendment and
now, you (Smith & Wesson) are a major component of that dishonesty.
Your decision is not
acceptable, and yes, I realize you may not care about my single opinion. On
the other hand, I have for some time desired to purchase a particular new
Smith & Wesson. In light of your decision, I have regrettably decided to
NOT make such a purchase.
In my view, you and your
company have become an integral part of the enemy of freedom. You have
become a prostitute for the government. Your price - negotiable. Your
short term "benefits" - favored contract status with government
agencies. You must realize, Americans will not disarm. In the
last century nearly 170 million people have been murdered by their own
governments (mass slaughter of helpless, unarmed civilian populations). We
will not allow such plight to be visited upon our families and children.
You may find of interest a short writing calling for the need for honesty
in the gun control debate http://www.saveourguns.com/honesty.htm
I await your reply. Thank you.
Very Truly Yours,
